ROCCO BURGO was born on July 15, 1913, one of at least nine children born to Louis and Nettie Burgo. In January of 1920 the Burgo family lived at 276 Walnut Street in South Camden. They were still in the same neighborhood ten years later, when at the time of the April 1930 Census, the family lived at 323 Chestnut Street. They belonged to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church on South 4th Street.

In the late 1930s Rocco Burgo was active in the Young Men's Catholic Club of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Parish. In June of 1939 he was the chairman of the dance committee, which organized an affair at the Hotel Walt Whitman at Broadway and Cooper Street, which featured music by Larry Fotin and his Orchestra. Fotine led his band through the 1950s, made a few records, but is best remembered as a composer and songwriter. 

Rocco Burgo was last a resident of Westville NJ. He passed away on January 24, 1993..
