JAMES V. McFADDEN was born in Summit Hill PA in 1900 to John V. and Annie McFadden. After working as an inspector in a coal mine, where he was enumerated during the January 1920 Federal Census, James McFadden began practicing his trade as a pharmacist in Camden in 1921. He had married his wife Catherine in 1920. By April of 1930 the McFadden family had moved to Haddonfield NJ, where they owned a home at 256 Hawthorne Avenue. He later moved to 702 Linden Street in Camden NJ. James McFadden operated his own business, Mac's Pharmacy, at Broadway and Benson for several years. He began working as the pharmacist at the Walt Whitman Hotel Pharmacy in 1942, a position which held until his passing, from a heart attack, at home, on January 22, 1950. |
