HOWARD MICKLE POTTER was born December 13, 1878 in Millville NJ to McKendree R. and Cecelia Potter. McKendree R. Potter moved his family to Camden around 1887. He appears in the 1888 through 1891 directories as living at 338 Clinton Street, and as working as a baggage-master for the West Jersey railroad.

Howard Potter started his banking career at the Camden National Bank at 2nd Street at Kaighn Avenue in April of 1897. He resigned to take a position with the Real Estate Loan & Trust Company on April 18, 1900. This company later merged with the Security Trust Company, in which institution Potter became trust officer. He remained in banking when the Security Trust Company merged with the Camden Trust at Broadway and Market Streets, rising to the post of assistant treasurer. In April of 1950, he marked 50 years of continuous employ with the firm.

After his marriage to Keturah Dunlap Redrow on June 6, 1908 he moved to Wenonah NJ. He also served as the treasurer of the Wenonah Savings and Loan Association from 1917 through at least 1950.
