CHARLOTTE C. FRENCH was born in Wisconsin in 1872. Unmarried at the time of the January 1920 census, she was living at the Milner Hotel at North 2nd and Penn Streets in Camden, near the then-new library built by Eldridge Johnson of the Victor Talking Machine Company. Miss French was then working as a bookkeeper in a real estate office.
During the 1920s Charlotte French later acquired the building at 210 Cooper Street, where she lived and operated a business that supported the many offices and small businesses in the area by providing copying and mailing services. She was still in business at that address as late as 1936.
Charlotte French is not listed in the 1947 Camden City Directory.
