DuBell 

CHARLES G. DuBELL was born in 1875 to William C. and Sarah Ann DuBell in Jacksonville NJ. In 1880 the family lived in Northampton Township, Burlington County NJ. By 1887 the family had come to Camden NJ, living at 437 Riley Street. They moved in the following year to 266 Walnut Street. William DuBell worked as a teamster, delivering lumber from the Volney Bennett lumber yard. Charles G. DuBell followed his father into the lumber business. By 1920 he was living at 1415 Baird Avenue Boulevard, and was the manager of a brick and lumber yard, very possibly that of his neighbors at 1407 and 1401 Baird, the Budd family. His widower father, William C. DuBell lived there as well. 

In 1922 Charles G. DuBell and his father founded the DuBell Lumber Company, at 18th and Federal Streets in East Camden. His son Lester joined the firm shortly afterwards. Charles G. DuBell died of a heart attack while at home in 1945. He was survived by his wife, son, daughter Mildred, and sister Mrs. Ada Beringer, the daughter-in-law of Dr. George M. Beringer, a prominent Camden pharmacist and businessman.

The DuBell Lumber Company  moved during the 1980s to Cherry Hill NJ, and remains one of South Jersey's larger lumber businesses in 2004. The former DuBell Lumber Company location has been the home of the DiMedio Lime Company since the DuBell Company's relocation.
