STANLEY K. JASKOLSKI was born in Poland on May 8, 1897. He came to America in 1913. After serving in the military during World War I, he married, and a son, Alexander, was born on January 1, 1920. A butcher by trade, he had done well, and owned his own butcher's shop at 1062 Kaighn Avenue by the time the 1930 Census was taken. Stanley Jaskolski later moved his shop and residence to 1555 Mount Ephraim Avenue, the corner of Mount Ephraim Avenue and Morton Street. Stanley Jaskolski was at one time president of the Polish American Citizens Club, in the the mid 1930s. He succeeded Stanley Ciechanowski in that post in January of 1938. In those days the club was located on Mount Ephraim Avenue. The club later erected its own building at South 10th and Lowell Streets. Stanley Jaskolski passed away in March of 1961, survived by his son. |
