DR. WILLIAM S. JONES was born in Elmer NJ in 1856. He graduated medial school in 1878 and after practicing in Millville for four years, came to Camden. He soon made a name for himself, despite his young age, in medical and political circles, establishing a lucrative practice at 201 Broadway. Dr. Jones was elected to City Council as a Republican from Camden's Fourth Ward in 1889, but refused to stand for re-election. In 1894 he was named County Physician for Camden County. Dr. Jones passed away on June 8, 1920, survived by his wife, the former Ida Ford. |
