CHARLES S. ZEIGLER was born in Carlisle PA around 1856. He came to Camden in the late 1890s, and married around 1905. By 1910 Charles Zeigler was president of the Park Moving & Storage Company, one of Camden's largest movers. He was an active member of Bethany M. E. Church. By that year the Zeiglers owned a home at 620 Pine Street; he would reside there for the rest of his life. After a two year illness, Charles S. Zeigler passed away on February 8, 1933 at the age of 57. His firm survived him by many years, passing from the scene in the 1970s. |

DEATH ENDS ILLNESS OF CHARLES ZEIGLER Charles S. Zeigler, 57, president of the Park Storage Company, Haddon Avenue and Pine Street, died yesterday at his home, 620 Pine street, after an illness of two years. Mr. Zeigler was well known as a Methodist layman and was one of the oldest members of the Bethany M. E. Church. He was treasurer of the church and superintendent of the Sunday school, serving in the former capacity for 20 years and as superintendent for more than 15 years. He was a native of Carlisle, Pa., and a resident of Camden for 34 years. He is survived by the widow, Laura; two sons, Thomas C., of Woodlynne. and Joseph R., and a daughter, Miss Anna A. Ziegler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Bethany M. E. Church, Tenth and Cooper Streets, with Rev. John Norberry officiating. Burial will be in Harleigh Cemetery.. |
