CORPORAL ROBERT J. PIERCE attended high school in Collingswood NJ. He was a member of the class of 1936, but did not graduate from Collingswood High School. 

Robert J. Pierce was home on leave when he was broke his neck in a diving accident at Oakwood Beach, near Salem NJ. Taken to Salem Memorial Hospital, he died on August 6, 1944. He was survived by his wife, Marie Pierce, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pierce of 46 Oakland Avenue, Collingswood NJ, two sisters, Betty and Mary, and a brother, Yeoman First Class Jack Pierce, then serving with the Navy. His funeral was held August 10, 1944.
