SERGEANT ROBERT E. PRICE, of 123 Washington Avenue in Collingswood NJ was killed in action while serving with the United States Army. He was a 1942 graduate of Collingswood High school, and had been inducted into the Army on March 1, 1943. He reported for active duty one week later. He trained at fort Dix NJ, Fort Jackson SC, and Camp Atterbury IN, training as a member of Company M, 423rd Infantry, 106th Infantry Division, and took part maneuvers in South Carolina and Tennessee. He transferred to Company I, 358th Infantry, 90th Infantry Division on July 10, 1944. Once overseas, Robert Price saw action in Normandy, Northern France, and Germany. He was reported missing in action of February 22, 1945. His body was later recovered, and he was buried in Hamm Luxembourg. His death was reported in the April 5, 1945 edition of the Camden Courier-Post. In 1948, Robert Price was brought home, and he now rests in Harleigh Cemetery, in Camden NJ. |
