Edward Wierciszewski

PRIVATE EDWARD WIERCISZEWSKI was born in New Jersey around 1918. He was the son of Kazimierz (Casimir) and Alexandria (Alice) Wiercsizewski, both natives of Poland who had come to America in 1912 and 1911 respectively. They had met in America in 1914 and initially lived in Pennsylvania, where son Henry was born. a sister, Florence, was born around 1924. By 1917 they had moved New Jersey and had another son, Stanley, then Edward. In 1930 the family owned a home at 1111 Lowell Street in Camden NJ. Edward Wierciszewski received his schooling at the Bonsall School, Hatch Junior High School in Camden NJ, and the Camden County Vocational School in Pennsauken NJ, and was a member of St. Joseph's Church at South 10th and Liberty streets in Camden. 

Edward Wierciszewski was inducted into the Army on June 23, 1944 and served with the 46th Armored Infantry Battalion, 5th Armored Division for nine months. He was killed in Germany on April 13, 1945. 

He was survived by his parents Kazimierz and Alexandria Wierciszewski, his two brothers Stanley and Henry, and a sister, Florence.
