This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department called Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. In the late afternoon of October 1st, Camden Fire Department personnel respond to reports of a house fire at 1100 North 27th Street in Cramer Hill. Fire Dispatcher Matt DeGailler gave the following account: Several calls reported a dwelling fire in the 1100 block of North 27th Street. At 1718 hours, Engine 9, Engine 11, Engine 1 (Second Source Company), Ladder 3, Ladder 1, Ladder 2 (FAST Truck) and Battalion 1 were dispatched. When Engine 9 arrived on location, it foud a two-story end of the row dwelling, with heavy fire on the second floor. An all hands alarm was struck, bringing Squad 7 (Resource Company) and a notification to Car 2 (Deputy Chief Dan Rossi). At 10 minutes Battalion 1 reported companies making good progress, and that the correct address was 1100 North 27th Street. There had been no extension to the exposures, fire probably will hold. The fire was placed under control at 1736 hours. The Red Cross was notified to make arrangements to house five displaced occupants. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
