Do you remember the Safety Patrol? Do you remember 16mm Movies in your grade school classroom? In May of 1948, a film crew began shooting a film in Camden NJ that would be showed to tens of thousands of schoolchildren across the country for years to come. The film was called A PLAN FOR SAFETY, and it was produced by the Atlantic Refining Company, a Philadelphia based oil company. Camden police officers Earl Stopfer and George Jefferis served as technical advisors on the project, and were on film throughout the movie. Click on the newspaper article for a full sized view
