PRIVATE HERMAN CLARK TRIBOLET was born in 1913 to Fred J. R. & Edna A. Tribolet, in Pennsylvania. The family moved to New Jersey shortly after his birth. In 1920 the family lived at 55 Church Street in Northampton Township, Burlington County, and the elder Tribolet worked as a fireman on a stationary engine. By 1930 the Tribolet family had settled at 214 Ridgeway Street in Mt. Holly NJ. In 1930 Fred Tribolet was working as a bus driver, and Herman Tribolet had left school to work as a cook. He had moved to Camden NJ prior to his entrance into the Army, and lived at 2748 Federal Street, in East Camden.

Private Tribolet was serving in the United States Army at Camp Pickett VA in July of 1943. On leave, he was riding in a car with four other soldiers when the car was struck by a bus at Berlin NJ. All five soldiers were killed in the accident. Herman Tribolet was 29 at the time of his death. He was survived by his mother, younger brothers, Fred Jr. and John J, and a sister, Grace A.
