PRIVATE FIRST CLASS NICHOLAS J. MICHAELS lived at 622 North 5th Street in Camden NJ before entering the Army. Inducted early in the war, he was assigned to the 8th Tank battalion, 4th Armored Division. He was killed in action on February 24, 1945 during fighting along the Pruem River near Sinspelt, Germany. His death was reported in the March 29, 1945 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.

Nicholas Michaels was brought home after the war. He was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly NJ on August 14, 1948.
