SERGEANT HAROLD J. DeGraff, 23, of 1234 Everett Street in Camden NJ, was reported as killed in action in Germany on February 4, 1945, after having previously been reported as missing in action on January 8, 1945, according to the March 8, 1945 edition of the Camden Courier-Post. 

    Harold DeGraff was the husband of Bertha Hill DeGraff, and the father of a year-old son, Harold Jr. He had entered the Army in December of 1941, and had been in charge of an anti-aircraft unit in Camden NJ for two years, before being transferred to an infantry unit in February of 1944. He went overseas in October, 1944.

    Harold DeGraff was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward DeGraff, of Runnells IA. His wife was the daughter of former Courier-Post employee and South Jersey baseball umpire Dale Hill, of the Everett Street address.
