PRIVATE FIRST CLASS FRANK ANGELASTRO Frank Angelastro was born on December 11, 1918. He had lived with his parents at 1122 Locust Street, Camden NJ. He had worked at the New York Shipbuilding Company prior to being inducted into the United States Army.  During his tenure in the Army, he had served overseas in Iceland and France.

Frank Angelastro was killed in action at the age of 26 on December 9, 1944 while serving with the 313th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division. There had been confusion concerning his death, as he had entered the service on the same day as his cousin, also named Frank Angelastro, and the two men had serial numbers only two digits apart. The Army initially had sent a telegram regarding Private Angelastro's demise to the wrong house informing that family that their son had been lost in Europe. This had alerted the family as to the error, as the second Frank Angelastro was serving in the Pacific. His death was reported in the January 15, 1945 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.

Frank Angelastro was survived by his parents, a brother John, who was serving in the Army Air Force, and two other brothers, Nicholas and Pasquale, at that time still living at home. after the war, his body was brought home to New Jersey, and he was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Delaware Township (present day Cherry Hill) NJ on December 7, 1948.
