SECOND LIEUTENANT CHESTER A. STELMACH, formerly of 1172 Atlantic Avenue, Camden NJ was born May 4th, 1923. He entered the Army in February of 1943. After being stationed at various Air Force Schools and fields in the U.S.A., he met his death at Abilene TX on August 9th, 1944. 

Chester Stelmach attended St. Joseph's Parochial School, Hatch Junior High, and graduated from Camden High School, where he distinguished himself as manger of the basketball and track teams, and was active in many other school activities.
 

He was also an active member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church, 10th & Liberty Streets in Camden.

Lieutenant Stelmach was survived by his brothers, Bruno, John, and Ferdinand (Brother Flavian of Jesus in the Congregation of the Christian Brothers), and his sisters, Helen and Lillian.
