PRIVATE CARL FREDERICK BICKER was born in Camden NJ, the son of Dr. Francis. J. Bicker M.D. and his wife, the former Theresa Trainor Tuttle. His father was born in Pennsylvania, and had come to Camden from Philadelphia in the 1880s. In 1887 he was living and working as a drug clerk for Dr. John W. Donges at 1801 Broadway. Francis Joseph Bicker eventually was licensed as a medical doctor. In 1910 the Bicker family resided at 1700 Fillmore Street

Carl Bicker was attending college at Winona Lake IN in the fall of 1917 when he dropped out in order to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He was stricken with pneumonia and died at Quantico VA on September 29, 1918. 

His parents having preceded him in death, Private Bicker was survived by his brother, Francis J. Bicker Jr., a sister, Katherine Bicker, his aunt, Mrs. Florence Bicker Burroughs, and her husband Harry D. Burroughs, of 1634 Broadway, in Camden NJ.
