SEAMAN SECOND CLASS JOHN MARTIN PETERSON JR. was the son of a long-time member of the Camden Fire Department. The family moved to 1049 North 34th Street in Cramer Hill sometime between 1924 and 1927. Seaman Second Class Peterson was killed when the aircraft carrier USS FRANKLIN CV-13 was hit by a kamikaze on March 19, 1945. Shipfitter Second Class Joseph A. Barron, of Gloucester City NJ, and Lieutenant Addison E. Moore of Audubon Park, were also lost in the attack.
