Emma
Street

EMMA STREET was a one block street that ran from Chestnut Street south to Sycamore Street, east of Locust Street and west of South 3rd Street. There were 20 houses on Emma Street, numbering 1100 through 1119. Emma Street was already in existence and the houses had already been built when the 1885 Sanborn Map was published.

All but one house on Emma Street was occupied in 1947. Over the years all but one was abandoned, several abandoned properties were taken down in the 1990s. By 2014, only one house still stood on Emma Street, and it was at that time still occupied.
