Dauphin Street

DAUPHIN STREET is a two block thoroughfare that runs south, from Line Street across Pine Street to end at Division Street, between South 4th Street and South 5th Street in South Camden. The street was already in existence when the first Camden City Directory was published in 1863. Originally called Kaighn Street, Dauphin and 22 other streets were given new names in January of 1882.

Do you have an Dauphin Street memory or picture. Let me know by e-mail so it can be included here.

The School and Convent belonged to the Roman Catholic Church of Ss. Peter & Paul, which later moved to Broadway and Spruce Streets. The buildings were then turned over to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
