CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY
EBONY SHOWPLACE
1469 Broadway
The Ebony Showplace was a popular spot in Camden in the late 1970s. With a large dance floor and seating for over 300 people, the Ebony Showplace featured live music, and many of the area's top soul and rhythm & blues acts appeared there during the club's all to brief lifetime. The Ebony Showplace stopped appearing in the New Jersey Bell Telephone Yellow Pages after 1979. The building was a victim of a fire in 1981, and was razed. |
