On
April 5, 1882 Henry Miles was appointed to the Camden
Fire Department as an extra man with the Engine
Company 2, taking the place of Charles
Reed. Henry Miles served for two years. He was
replaced by William Lyons in 1884. Henry Miles worked as a
painter
and during his two years with the Fire
Department.
Henry
and Emma Miles stayed at the Clinton
Street address through the beginning of 1885. When the
1887-1888 City Directory was compiled, Henry and Emma Miles had
returned to 101 North
2nd Street. He remained at this address until his death in
August of 1917. Henry
Miles was buried at New Camden Cemetery on August 17, 1911. He
was survived by his wife Emma, who joined him in September of
1935. Henry and Emma Miles had no children.
