EDWARD FRANK SHERMAN was born in Pennsylvania in June of 1857, according to the 1900 Census. He married around 1883, and by 1897 had moved to Camden, where he and his wife Mary conducted photographic studios in Camden and at Wildwood in the late 1890s into the early 1910s. They first appear in Camden Directories in 1897, at 1032 Cooper Street. The 1898 and 1899 City Directories show them living at 716 Pearl Street, and conducting business at 427 Broadway. The 1900 Census shows the Shermans to be childless, and living at 427 Broadway. The Shermans' home and business are listed at 427 Broadway in City Directories through 1906. The 1906 Directory features a cover at with two Camden locations, 427 Broadway and 934 Broadway. From 1907 though 1912 the business was only listed at 934 Broadway. Edward Frank Sherman passed away prior to the compilation of the 1912 City Directory. Mary Sherman kept the business open at 934 Broadway for year or so. She is listed as residing at 710 Penn Street in the 1915, 1916 and 1917 Directories. |
