DONALD ALBERT KINSEY was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania on October 26, 1925 to Albert Dewey Kinsey and his wife, the former Effie Sachs. He was a distant cousin, through his mother, of President Theodore Roosevelt. He was the oldest of at least five children. The family was still living in Hazelton in April of 1930. Albert Kinsey was then working as a coal miner.

Donald Kinsey came to Camden at some point after 1947. He was appointed to the Camden Fire Department on April 6, 1961, where he worked as a mechanic. He made his home with his wife Madeline at 764 Woodland Avenue

Donald Kinsey served the City of Camden for over 26 years before retiring on November 30, 1987. He was still a resident of Camden when he passed away on August 1, 1995. Mrs. Kinsey had died in February of 1994.
